Day 1: San Francisco
Arrive at San Francisco International Airport, collect your rental car and drive to your hotel.
Day 2: San Francisco
Enjoy a full day discovering this fascinating city. Wander through Fisherman’s Wharf, famous for its crab stalls and lively waterfront atmosphere, and enjoy sidewalk dining. Explore colourful neighbourhoods showcasing elegant architecture, including Chinatown, Japantown and the Embarcadero. Visible from the bay is the infamous island prison of Alcatraz.
Day 3: San Francisco
Today is free to further explore San Francisco or take a scenic drive to California’s renowned Wine Country, Napa Valley. Established in 1828, this fertile region is considered one of the premier wine‑growing areas in the United States, with celebrated wineries offering tours and tastings.
Day 4: San Francsico to California Coast
Drive south to Monterey and stroll along historic Fisherman’s Wharf and Cannery Row. Continue along the spectacular 17‑Mile Drive, winding along the Peninsula Coast from Pacific Grove to Carmel and showcasing dramatic seaside scenery. Visit the historic Carmel Mission, founded in 1770.
Day 5: California Coast to Central Coast
One of the most scenic drives of the journey awaits as you travel along the dramatic Big Sur coastline toward San Simeon. Consider visiting Hearst Castle or enjoying a walk along the well‑maintained trails near Pfeiffer State Beach.
Day 6: Central Coast to Anaheim
Drive south to Solvang, a charming village founded by Danish immigrants and known for its traditional bakeries, boutique shops and surrounding wineries. Continue through Malibu and Santa Monica before heading inland to Anaheim, home to Southern California’s most iconic theme parks.
Day 7: Anaheim
Enjoy a full day at Disneyland® Resort, with your Disney ticket included. Spend the day experiencing the magic of Disneyland® Park and Disney California Adventure® Park, home to iconic attractions, immersive themed lands and world‑class entertainment suitable for all ages.
Day 8: Los Angeles to Las Vegas
Drive east through the Mojave Desert, passing the historic ghost town of Calico, before arriving in the dazzling Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas. Once a small desert oasis, Las Vegas is now famed for its world‑class shows, dining and nightlife.
Day 9: Las Vegas
Enjoy a full day at leisure. Options include visiting Hoover Dam and Lake Mead (extra cost), or taking an optional air excursion to the spectacular Grand Canyon (extra cost) – one of the world’s great natural wonders, renowned for its immense scale, colour and geological history.
Day 10: Las Vegas to San Diego
Travel south past Lake Elsinore and the rolling vineyards of Temecula en route to San Diego, known for its relaxed coastal lifestyle and year‑round pleasant climate.
Day 11: San Diego
A full day to explore San Diego’s many attractions, including Balboa Park, Old Town, Coronado Beach, Seaport Village, the San Diego Zoo, or SeaWorld®, the world’s largest marine life park (extra cost).
Day 12: San Diego to Los Angeles
Return your rental car at San Diego Airport for your onward flight, or drive north to Los Angeles to conclude your journey there.
